Laughter supposedly will help - look for a local outlet for the 'Antenna' network. Johnny Carson is on at 10 PM 5 nights a week and 9 PM on weekends, and it gets repeated later. On those nights you can't sleep, tune in. Carson and his guests define 'laughter provoking'. It's so good that plainsong will sometimes stay up past her favorite bedtime to watch.

Oh, DS, I'm so sorry to hear this. My gut feeling is that if ANYONE can beat this, it will be you. It's really important to stay positive. In 1998, I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer as a fluke; I was prone to ovarian cysts and my doctor sent me for a scan for what we thought was another cyst. There was, but the scan also showed The Big C. Stage 1, which is almost never discovered. The next place my doctor sent me was to a local gentleman who specialized in positive thinking. This man--some people called him a faith healer, he was not per se-- taught me all kinds of visualization techniques for mentally attacking the disease. If you have someone like that in your community, I would wholeheartedly recommend getting an appointment soon as possible. You can't start mentally zapping that shit fast enough. I know how hard it is to stay positive in the face of a scary diagnosis, so we need all the help we can get.

In the meantime, all the prayers, mojo, good thoughts, etc. that I can possibly muster are with you.
